Preliminary Task: Analysis and Critique

When editing we noticed that there were some errors in our filming and production. One major error was, we closed the curtains part way through filming. This meant that the brightness of the room differed dramatically between shots. In order to correct this, we changed the colour to black and white, to hide the error. When filming our next peice (the thriller) we will have to make sure the surroundings are constant throughout filming, especially the light levels.

Another error, was with our filming. As the two characters shake hands, the camera is not quite tilted high enough and the top of both character's head's are cut off. When we film our thriller, we will have to make sure we do not make similar errors.

One other error was a continuity error. As the interviewee walks in the room, he has his hand in his pocket, however in the next angle they are out of his pocket. When filming the thriller we will have to be careful not to make similar continuity errors, and re-film if any do occur.

Despite these errors, on the whole I feel the filming of "The Interview" was a success and I feel I can now be more succesful in the main project as I know where errors can occur. I also have a better understanding of using the cameras and using the editing software. I look forward to starting the main project.
